Mission Statement

The Douglas County Early Childhood Council's (DCECC) mission is to foster and promote a comprehensive, high quality, and responsive system of early childhood supports for families with children, prenatal to age eight.

Organization Description

Douglas County Early Childhood Council (DCECC) represents Douglas County in statewide efforts to strengthen the overall “system” of early childhood. Using the Early Childhood Colorado Framework as a guide to ensure that all children are valued, healthy and thriving, DCECC targets the whole child through the domains of Learning & Development, Family Support & Education, and Health & Well-Being. Its goal is to improve outcomes for children, prenatal to eight years old, and their families such as increased accessibility, quality, and equity of early childhood services and resources in Douglas County. DCECC accomplishes this in collaboration with many early childhood partner organizations and local key stakeholders who work together to identify and address potential early childhood issues in Douglas County. DCECC’s Executive Committee meets monthly to provide oversight for the implementation of DCECC’s annual work plan, as part of its overall 3-year strategic plan, and makes recommendations concerning policies and procedures.
