Mission Statement
Partner with early educators, childcare programs, and community leaders to implement and strengthen a well-funded, equitable system of high-quality, accessible, affordable early childhood services for families in Eagle, Garfield, Lake, and Pitkin Counties.
Organization Description
The Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council is a regional council that covers Lake, Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin counties. Councils are charged with supporting efforts to improve quality, capacity and affordability of services to young children and families. Councils throughout the state serve to consolidate, coordinate and maximize funding and create a seamless system of early childhood services through collaboration and partnership among public and private stakeholders, early childhood providers and families.
Our Council is also the Local Coordinating Organization (LCO) for Lake, Western Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin counties, and we are leading UPK implementation. Our LCO Advisory Committee has regional representation and will be helping provide guidance and support as implementation continues and will focus on not only what is going well but also any pain points and potential solutions.
