The Colorado Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act (READ Act) focuses on early literacy development for all students with special attention for students at-risk for not achieving reading proficiency by third grade. Importantly, the READ Act focuses on identifying students with significant reading deficiencies (SRD), engaging parents in the development of reading improvement plans, and providing funding support interventions for those most at- risk.
This data dashboard has been designed to provide Colorado stakeholders with transparent information related to the Colorado READ Act, including the number of students identified with a SRD and funding information at the state, district and school level by student characteristic groups. The dashboard is organized by taps across the top with data for the past five years (2013-2017). Data in the dashboard are displayed by school year (e.g., 2016 represents school year 2015-2016)
